Scripture of the Week:
“But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.”— Romans 8:25 (NIV)
Devotional:
Waiting is hard.
Especially when you feel stuck at work.
You’ve been faithful. You’ve prayed. You’ve hoped for change, a promotion, new direction—something.
And yet… nothing seems to move.
We all find ourselves in what feels like the “waiting room” at some point in our careers. A season where doors don’t open, recognition doesn’t come, or clarity feels just out of reach.
But the Bible reminds us that waiting isn’t wasted. In fact, trusting God’s timing at work is one of the deepest expressions of faith. It’s saying, “God, I believe You see what I can’t. I trust You to move when the time is right.”
Why Trusting God’s Timing at Work Matters
✅ It Grows Your Faith. Waiting stretches our dependence on God. It removes the illusion that we control outcomes and helps us lean into His perfect wisdom and timing.
✅ It Prepares You for What’s Next. Just because you don’t see movement doesn’t mean God isn’t working. Often, He’s developing your character to match the calling that’s ahead.
✅ It Protects You from Rushing. Some doors stay closed because God’s protection is at work. His “not yet” is sometimes a merciful “you’re not ready” or “it’s not safe.”
✅ It Sets You Apart. While the world panics or manipulates to get ahead, Christians who wait with peace show the world a different way—trusting God’s timing at work rather than their own.
A Story to Carry With You:
A colleague of mine spent years hoping for a leadership position in his company. He applied, he interviewed, and he was passed over—twice. Every part of him wanted to quit or complain, but instead, he kept showing up with excellence and integrity.
On his third try, the position opened again. This time, not only did he get the role, but he stepped into a healthier team dynamic and found greater influence than he would have had before. God’s delay wasn’t denial—it was preparation and protection.
This Week’s Challenge:
If you’re in a waiting season, don’t let discouragement take root. Take heart.
Pray this simple prayer:
“Lord, I trust Your timing in my work. Strengthen my patience. Refine my heart. And prepare me for what You have planned.”
Your waiting is not in vain. God is never late. He’s always right on time—for your good and His glory.
Reflection Verse for the Week:
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”— Psalm 27:14 (NIV)
